    Mission statement:

ArtSpark! is dedicated to the advancement of education, arts, and culture for diverse ethnic populations. ArtSpark! is committed to furthering a multicultural interdisciplinary model for art-infused education in public schools with high-caliber exemplary artists who bring the arts from the periphery to the center of core curriculum and community life.

    ArtSpark! includes three essential strands:
  • Intensive, high caliber art-infused, standards-based instruction for students in four major disciplines: music, theater, visual arts, and ethnic dance.

  • Professional development, including theoretical, practical, interactive experiences, for teachers and artists with a focus on Visual And Performing Arts (VAPA) framework.

  • An in-depth component based on qualitative and quantitative research using statewide measures, authentic assessment tools, and diverse data gathering methodologies. Research contributes to the growing body of data that documents the impact of art on cognitive and affective domains.
